KBR WINS MANAGEMENT SERVICES CONTRACT FOR THE NHS NATIONAL IT PROGRAMME

LONDON - KBR (Kellogg Brown & Root) announced today that it has been awarded the contract from the Department of Health for the provision of programme management services for its £2.3 billion (US$3.6 billion) National IT Programme. The programme is aimed at restructuring and modernising the National Health Service's (NHS) information technology KBR is the engineering and construction subsidiary of Halliburton (NYSE: HAL).

Tony Pryor, chief operating officer for KBR's Government Operations business in Europe & Africa said: 'We are delighted to be working on this strategically significant project. Under the three-year contract KBR will provide full programme management services and this may be extended to include procurement at the discretion of the NHS.

The NHS National IT Programme aims to improve the patient experience and quality of care, improve the capacity of the NHS to deliver change and reform in its working and clinical practises, and support frontline clinicians in delivering improved patient-centred care.
