HALLIBURTON AND LARSON SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGY LAUNCH WELL LOG VIEWER TO DELIVER VITAL O&G INFORMATION VIA THE INTERNET

Houston, Texas - Halliburton Energy Services' Sperry-Sun and Logging & Perforating product service lines, in conjunction with Larson Software Technology, Inc. (Larson CGM Software), have announced the global commercialization of its Hal Log Viewer™ service. The new service provides Halliburton customers with a standard medium format (CGM: computer graphics metafile) to more effectively make decisions to maximize their reservoirs. Halliburton Energy Services is a business unit of Halliburton (NYSE: HAL).

This new light-weight web-enabled well log viewing tool allows for a flexible, secure, quick, and easy exchange of complex graphical information to communicate well activities through data acquired by Halliburton's INSITE™ data logging wireline or logging-while-drilling systems. This technology also enables Halliburton to deliver well log data as well as related drilling information to its customers via intranet/extranet sites and the Internet.

"This is a plug-and-play environment that uses standard Microsoft® browser and print drivers, making it cost effective for our clients," said Jeff Grable, Integrated Petrophysics manager, Halliburton. "Utilizing TIFF (tag image file format) and CGM image formats in conjunction with PIP (petroleum industry profile) standards produces a rich environment and the functionality for easy viewing, printing, and annotating logs while allowing broader utility."

The CGM and TIFF file format functionality was implemented to support Halliburton's INSITE™ rig information systems.

"Halliburton sets the standard in the well logging and energy services industry. With the adoption of this technology, Halliburton is continuing to provide their customers with innovative solutions," said Don Larson, president and chief executive officer, Larson CGM Software. "We are pleased to have Halliburton join our growing list of OEM customers who are integrating CGM standards into their products."

Larson will also provide Halliburton with web-enabled TIFF technology to view and print data.
