LANDMARK AND HELIX RDS ANNOUNCE INNOVATIVE DATA AND APPLICATIONS HOSTING CONTRACT AT 2002 PETEX

- Landmark Enables Company to Globally Access Data and Applications via the Internet -

HOUSTON, Texas - Landmark Graphics Corporation, a wholly owned business unit of Halliburton (NYSE:HAL), and Helix RDS Ltd, today announced that they have signed an innovative data and application hosting contract at the 2002 PETEX in London.

The contract will enable Helix RDS to gain access to a comprehensive suite of seismic and geotechnical software applications from multiple vendors. Over thirty applications and the associated sub-surface data will be accessible to more than 100 Helix RDS employees worldwide.

"Landmark is delighted to be increasing the effectiveness of Helix's business at a time of significant international expansion," said Andy Lane, Landmark's president and CEO. "By delivering critical applications and data over the Internet in a vendor-neutral hosting environment, Helix RDS will be able to work in ways previously not possible. They will be able to communicate knowledge and information more effectively and efficiently within their company and with their clients."

The agreement represents one of the first times that an international E&P business has outsourced its entire geo-technical computing infrastructure in this way, allowing more effort to be focused on the core business. The service will provide a competitive advantage for Helix RDS, through virtual teamwork and better leveraging of resources around the world. Geographically distributed team members will be able to simply log on to any project, from any location, by accessing a powerful, secure, centralized data and applications environment.
"Cost effective and easy access to data and applications is key to the success of our business. Landmark is delivering this to us through their integrated hosting service." said Phil Moore, Helix RDS's Managing Director. "This approach has made it easy for us to outsource our entire technical software portfolio. The ability for us to share access with our clients to project data and applications on-line will also help to further differentiate us from our competitors."

Helix RDS will no longer be burdened with data loading, archiving, hardware upgrades, software upgrades and version control which will all be managed by Landmark in a highly secure hosted environment. Helix RDS clients will also be able to log on to their projects as members of the same virtual team, enabling them to actively work on their data using the same applications as Helix RDS staff.

"This contract further demonstrates Landmark's leadership in providing an integrated data and applications management service," said Doug Meikle, Landmark EFSU Operations Vice President. "Applications hosting is especially pertinent to the North Sea E&P industry where we see an accelerating trend towards outsourcing and collaborative working between E&P organizations, consultants and service companies such as Helix RDS. Faced with the industry demands of increasingly limited and geographically dispersed resources, Landmark is now providing the shared workspace needed for these companies to work together more effectively."
