LANDMARK AND VERITAS TEAM UP TO PROVIDE UNITED KINGDOM CONTINENTAL SHELF COMPREHENSIVE DATA AND TECHNOLOGY PORTAL

- New data and technology portal announced at 2002 PETEX -

LONDON, UK - Landmark Graphics Corporation, a wholly owned business unit of Halliburton (NYSE:HAL), announced today that it is teaming up with Veritas DGC Ltd., a wholly owned business unit of Veritas DGC (NYSE:VTS), to provide a comprehensive data and technology portal for both existing and new entrants to the United Kingdom Continental Shelf (UKCS). The portal offers data from Veritas' speculative seismic library, public domain well data, and additional public domain data from other sources. The portal will also offer access to Landmark's interpretation and analysis technology in a secure, hosted, online workspace. This portal will enable companies entering the UKCS market to quickly and easily gain access to key technology and data needed for successfully evaluating or working prospects in the region.

"The UKCS is a mature basin which presents daunting challenges and barriers to entry for potential new entrants," said Andy Lane, president and CEO of Landmark Graphics. "We are pleased to be working with Veritas DGC Ltd. in order to provide one-stop access to Landmark's industry leading technology for finding and developing oil and gas as well as access to Veritas' unmatched high quality speculative seismic data."

The Landmark/Veritas portal will also provide access to public domain well data from Common Data Access Ltd. and the list of data available will continue to grow. "One of the goals of our teaming with Veritas is to provide a single point of access for the latest data, technology, and services in a way that is aligned with the financial profile of the typical UKCS member," said Doug Meikle, operations vice president for Landmark EFSU region. "This portal will provide unique access to data and technology that will save new entrants to the UKCS market valuable time and enable them to be competitive with minimal infrastructure costs."

"Veritas has the most current and highest quality library of 3D speculative seismic available in the UKCS," said Elwyn Jones, Veritas DGC Ltd. vice president of Business Development. "Experience has already shown that access to seismic data of this caliber is critical for exploration success in a mature basin like the UKCS. Our joint initiative will allow easy and affordable access to this dataset for new entrants to the UKCS."

Landmark and Veritas will be introducing the comprehensive data portal and the wide range of data, technology, and services that will be available at the 2002 PETEX conference in London.
