NEWFIELD EXPLORATION ADOPTS FULL SUITE OF LANDMARK SOFTWARE, SERVICES AND SUPPORT

-Technology agreement is key to achieving competitive advantage in finding oil and gas -

HOUSTON, Texas - Landmark Graphics Corporation, a wholly owned business unit of Halliburton (NYSE: HAL), announced today that Newfield Exploration (NYSE:NFX) has signed a global multiyear technology agreement to adopt Landmark's current suite of geological and geophysical software products and support services. The agreement also calls for Landmark to work with Newfield on improving their data analysis and data integration capabilities.

"In today's world, it's becoming increasingly more difficult to find hydrocarbons. Many of our producing basins are very mature and we need continued improvements in technology to find new prospects," said Elliott Pew, Newfield's vice president of Exploration. "Our use of Landmark products and services gives us an edge and are valuable tools for our geoscientists throughout the company."

Landmark's exploration technology is now fully accessible to Newfield's geoscience team based in Houston, London, Perth and Tulsa. Newfield's Houston and Tulsa offices are supported by full-time Landmark onsite technical consultants. Landmark is working closely with Newfield's asset teams to accelerate and optimize their uptake of the technology through customized training programs, one-on-one mentoring and seminars.
