LANDMARK GRAPHICS GRANTS $28.3 MILLION IN INTEGRATED SOFTWARE AND SERVICES

- Seven universities benefit from Landmark's worldwide grant program -

DALLAS, Texas - Landmark Graphics Corporation, a wholly owned business unit of Halliburton (NYSE:HAL), today announced that it has granted $28.3 million in integrated E&P software and support services to seven universities. The company has now awarded more than $140 million in grants to universities worldwide since the program began. Universities selected for this program use the software both to instruct students as part of the course curriculum and to conduct academic research.

The following universities have been awarded new or renewed software grants through Landmark's University Grant Program: Curtin University of Technology, Perth Australia; Damascus University, Damascus, Syria; Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts; Montana Tech, Butte, Montana; Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio; University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and The University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah.

"Landmark is committed to the growth and development of students who will be entering the E&P industry and ensure that they have a solid foundation and access to the most advanced, up-to-date software technology. We are pleased that, through this program, we can be instrumental in helping these students prepare for their careers," said Andy Lane, Landmark's president and CEO.

"It was an honour for me and for our Department of Geology to be one of the receptors of the valuable University Grant issued to the Damascus University by Landmark Graphics Corporation," said Dr. Faris Chouker, Department of Geology, Damascus University. "The high-grade software, dealing with interpretation and visualization of seismic data made in connection with E&P tasks, is strongly needed for education and training of our students and postgraduates in the Geophysical Branch of the Geological Department. The seismic lab in the department of geophysics, equipped and supervised by Landmark Graphics, will be a distinguished achievement for our department - for staff members, students and postgraduates as well."

"The support of Landmark Graphics Corporation is an essential element of Harvard's training and research programs in structural geology and geophysics, said Professor John Shaw, Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Harvard University. "Access to Landmark software allows students direct experience with tools that have become industry standards, and facilitates cutting-edge research with petroleum industry datasets."

Four-year universities offering degrees in geology, geophysics, petroleum engineering, computer science, physics and mathematics are eligible to apply for Landmark university grants.
