FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 07, 2002
HALLIBURTON, LANDMARK GRAPHICS AND ACCENTURE OPEN THE ENERGY INDUSTRY'S FIRST REAL-TIME ASSET MANAGEMENT CENTER
-Breakthrough technology makes the web-enabled oil field a reality-
Dallas, Texas - Halliburton (NYSE: HAL), Landmark Graphics Corporation, a wholly owned business unit of Halliburton, and Accenture announced today at the 2002 Offshore Technology Conference, the opening of the industry's first real-time Asset Management Center (AMC) in Houston, Texas. The AMC is a state-of-the-art laboratory and demonstration facility that shows how today's oil company partnership operations and integrated asset teams can achieve higher production rates and improve asset P/L's through utilization of breakthrough technology in field automation, systems integration and immersive visualization. This combination makes real-time asset management and the Web-enabled oilfield a reality.
"We are excited to be opening this center with our alliance partner Accenture," said John Gibson, president of Halliburton Energy Services. "Halliburton and Landmark are in the forefront of web-enabled oilfield innovation and development. Paired with Accenture, we are developing the processes and demonstrating workflows that provide competitive advantage for today's leading edge asset management teams," he added.
In the facility, real-time data from field operations is integrated with stored reservoir model data in a secure, multi-client hosting center. Centralized data and application hosting provides support for knowledge sharing and teamwork between asset team members, partners and service companies working across immersive visualization rooms, partnership operations, remote office and home/hotel locations to radically decrease cycle time and improve profitability of the producing asset.
"Landmark is committed to enabling real-time asset management for our clients and making the vision of the Web-enabled oilfield a reality. We firmly believe that this will have a huge impact on lowering finding and lifting costs and maximizing the value efficiency of our clients' assets," said Andy Lane, president and CEO of Landmark Graphics. "This center is a proof point for the future of the industry. The really exciting thing, however, is that everything we're showing in the AMC is based on technology that exists today."
"The AMC offers clients the opportunity to see what these technologies can bring to their businesses," said Bill Warren, Accenture's managing partner for its upstream practice. "For energy companies who seek to manage their intellectual capital more effectively, the combination of Halliburton, Landmark and Accenture can help lead them into the Web-enabled oilfield era."
