HALLIBURTON WEB PORTAL RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE BEST
HOUSTON, Texas - Halliburton (NYSE: HAL) has been recognized by InfoWorld Media Group for its web portal, myHalliburton.comSM. Every year, InfoWorld names 100 companies that have made the best use of technology to enhance their business - projects that use new and emerging technologies to present smart, innovative ways to meet business and technical objectives, according to InfoWorld's web site message.
Halliburton created the extranet portal to help customers improve efficiency, reduce costs and to further align with its commitment to provide Real Time Reservoir SolutionsSM. MyHalliburton.com significantly reduces the time required by clients to find the best technical solutions, communicate with technical experts, and securely exchange technical documents in a controlled environment in order to improve the decision-making process.
"Since its launching in May 2002, more than 3,400 customers have registered for myHalliburton," said Alvaro Escorcia, director, Halliburton's Real Time Reservoir Solutions.
On InfoWorld's list of 100 companies, Halliburton was one of only five from the energy segment. Others from energy are GE Power Systems for its supply chain management, Tesoro Petroleum for its business process management, Shell Oil Products for its business intelligence, and American Electric Power for its .net knowledge management system.
