HALLIBURTON'S FASTQ MULTIPHASE FLOW METER SYSTEM MEASURES OIL, GAS, WATER FLOW RATES WITHOUT NEED FOR SEPARATION OR MIXING
Houston, Texas - Halliburton Energy Services, a business unit of Halliburton (NYSE: HAL), has completed field trials in Algeria of its non-radioactive multiphase flow meter system -- FastQ. The FastQ system is a skid-mounted mobile system capable of measuring the flow rates of oil, water, and gas continuously without any mixing or separating of fluids. The system utilizes the Flowsys Topflow* meter.
The FastQ system is used for exploration and production well testing, production monitoring, and allocation metering. Totally free of radioactive sources, it is environmentally friendly and safe to use. It has been successfully tested at independent flow test laboratories in Norway and the UK.
"During the trials, the system was tested against conventional well testing systems and the results were outstanding," said Gary Godwin, division vice president, Tools, Testing and TCP, Halliburton Energy Services. "Comparison percentage figures were well below the stated uncertainties."
The FastQ system gives the global customer a highly accurate non-radioactive solution for multiphase measurement, which utilizes a proven method of mass measurement. It also allows Halliburton to continue introducing to the market safe, environmentally friendly products.
