HALLIBURTON ENERGY SERVICES GROUP AWARDED SHELL GLOBAL AGREEMENT
Houston, Texas - Halliburton B.V., The Netherlands, a business unit of Halliburton Energy Services Group (NYSE: HAL), has been awarded a two year agreement with Shell International Exploration and Production B.V. (SIEP) for the global supply of drill bits and related services. Halliburton's product service line, Security DBS, will supply Shell with roller cone and fixed cutter drill bits which is expected to account for approximately US $15 million per year.
"This agreement is one of a number of global agreements Halliburton has been awarded by Shell. We believe that the global agreements are mutually beneficial to both Halliburton and Shell in that we can work closely together to deliver the best tools, services and technology for each Operating Unit's specific requirements, while working under one central agreement," said Peter Bernard, vice president Halliburton Energy Services Group.
"After extensive review of the technical and commercial value for all bidders, Shell selected Security DBS because of their competitive edge supported by significant investment in drill bit technology and expert personnel. We believe they have the commitment to deliver improved performance for Shell globally," said Jeff Prestwich, the BLC manager, SIEP.
This agreement enables any Shell Operating Unit across the world to use the Halliburton Security DBS drill bit technology. To date, Shell companies in Australia, Brunei, Nigeria, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States have taken advantage of the agreement, and roll-out is planned to operating units in many other countries.
