HALLIBURTON'S ENERGY SERVICES GROUP RECEIVES SAND CONTROL WORK FOR TOTALFINAELF OTTER DEVELOPMENT
DALLAS, Texas - Halliburton's Energy Services Group announced today that it has been awarded a Sand Face Completions contract by TotalFinaElf for its Otter development in the UK North Sea. The Energy Services Group is a business unit of Halliburton (NYSE: HAL).
The contract covers the supply and deployment of lower completion components, along with allied pumping work to gravel pack three subsea horizontal wells which will be completed with Electrical Submersible Pumps. Although active in screen completions over the last few years, this contract signals Halliburton's return to providing a full range of sand control services in the UK North Sea market.
A recognized global market leader in sand control, Halliburton was proactive in the UK market during 2001 as a result of the new focused sand control resource based in Aberdeen. The established team will allow North Sea clients access to Halliburton's market leading technology in this area.
