HALLIBURTON'S WELLSTREAM DELIVERS FIRST FLEXIBLE PIPE SHIPMENTS TO PETROBRAS BARRACUDA CARATINGA PROJECT
DALLAS, Texas - Wellstream, a business unit of Halliburton's Energy Services Group (ESG) has delivered its first shipments of flexible pipe for Petrobras's Barracuda Caratinga Project to Kellogg Brown and Root's Niteroi base in Brazil. These shipments comprised a total of 24 reels of pipe from Newcastle upon Tyne, UK and Panama City, Florida. The Energy Services Group and Kellogg Brown and Root are business units of Halliburton (NYSE: HAL).
"This milestone marks the start of many shipments of our product to Brazil in support of this Halliburton project from our manufacturing facilities in Panama City and Newcastle," said Brian Cocksedge, managing director, Wellstream. "The balance of shipments will be spread out over the next year, as we deliver our scope of more than 334 kilometers of risers and flowlines. These deliveries herald the beginning of the next phase of our involvement with this project as these full reels will be cut and reterminated into required flowline lengths and prepared for transhipment onto the installation vessels. Current plans call for mobilization of these vessels in December of this year. "
