LANDMARK GRAPHICS RELEASES PSTAX AND SCAN

-New Windows-based interpretive processing capabilities for the seismic interpreter-

DALLAS, Texas - Landmark Graphics Corporation, a wholly owned business unit of Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL), today announced the release of pStaX and SCAN, two new interpretive processing applications for their Windows NT®-based desktop seismic interpretation system, SeisVision . These tools enable seismic interpreters to enhance and analyze seismic data and attributes in order to validate interpretations and create high-resolution subsurface models.

pStaX, a new poststack seismic processing tool, allows seismic interpreters to enhance their seismic data during the interpretation phase using filtering or deconvolution algorithms. With pStaX, interpreters are afforded the ability to easily investigate multiple interpretation scenarios and detect subtle seismic anomalies and attributes directly from their Windows desktop.

An add-on to pStaX -- SCAN -- is a Semblance Computation ANalysis tool based on Landmark Graphics' event similarity prediction algorithm. SCAN provides a powerful Windows-based tool to aid in the detection of seismic, horizon and fault variations so that a better understanding of the reservoir is made possible. By providing a better definition of stratigraphic and structural changes, a higher resolution earth model is built and accessible throughout all phases of the exploration or development workflow.

Landmark President and CEO, John Gibson, emphasized the importance of bringing this technology to the desktop by adding, "This is technology Landmark spent years developing for the workstation and supercomputer marketplace. Bringing it to the desktop so that it is accessible by any asset team member in an organization will have an immense impact on reducing the cycle time and improving the interpretation quality that organizations expect."

Both products support standard SEG-Y input and output. They may be packaged together for stand-alone applications or as additions to Landmark's GeoGraphix Windows desktop seismic interpretation solution, SeisVision.

pStaX and SCAN are new additions to Landmark's GeoGraphix geophysical interpretation solution, which provides integrated Windows-based interpretation capabilities for the mainstream geoscientist. Visit the GeoGraphix solution Web site at www.geographix.com.
