LANDMARK GRAPHICS RELEASES SEISVISION FOR OPENWORKS

-New seismic interpretation system for cross platform applications-

DALLAS, Texas - Landmark Graphics Corporation, a wholly owned business unit of Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL), today announced the release of SeisVision™ for OpenWorks® , a new implementation of their Windows NT®-based geophysical interpretation solution that leverages the data model used by Landmark Graphics customers around the world. This new application provides a dynamic link between Landmark's GeoGraphix SeisVision's NT/Windows 2000 seismic interpretation capabilities and those of Landmark's UNIX®-based SeisWorks® and OpenWorks products.

SeisVision for OpenWorks provides Landmark Graphics customers with a seismic interpretation system that can scale to the exact requirements of their IT infrastructure, regardless of whether it is predominantly NT or UNIX based. This allows organizations to better manage their application and IT expenses by providing a completely flexible and cost-effective configuration option.

"SeisVision for OpenWorks represents a great industry collaboration, not only within Landmark's GeoGraphix and OpenWorks product groups, but the exploration industry as a whole," said John Gibson, president and CEO of Landmark Graphics. "The application vision and capabilities were directly driven by the relationships we enjoy with major oil companies around the world. The support from these organizations who actively participated in the design and testing of this product provided us invaluable guidance."

In this first version of SeisVision for OpenWorks, seismic data are directly linked to OpenWorks or SeisWorks projects. SeisVision users have the capability to interpret horizons, faults, and surfaces that are then stored real time in a SeisWorks project file. In addition, the system includes the ability to exchange well data and curves via the GeoGraphix DISCOVERY™ WellXchange™ module.

"SeisVision for OpenWorks is a comprehensive seismic interpretation system built on a shared data management and common visualization foundation to provide seamless integration between UNIX or NT based exploration systems," said David Verdun, Landmark's executive vice president of R&D. "By integrating seismic interpretations in a single environment, users can utilize seismic and well data to increase the integrity of their final interpretations."
