HALLIBURTON’S WELLSTREAM ACHIEVES ISO 14001 AND OHSAS 18001 AT NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, UK FACILITY
DALLAS, Texas - Wellstream, a business unit of Halliburton's (NYSE: HAL) Energy Services Group, today announces that its state-of-the-art Newcastle manufacturing facility has been awarded certification to two internationally recognized standards. The standards, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, and OHSAS 18001, Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, were awarded by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance Ltd (LRQA).
"Wellstream is pleased to have achieved OHSAS 18001 certification, which reflects our commitment to the welfare and health of our employees. The ISO 14001 certification also allows Wellstream to identify, prioritize, and manage environmental affairs as part of its normal work practices and in the execution of all projects," says Brian Cocksedge, Wellstream's managing director. "Certification to both standards formally aligns Wellstream with its client expectations on health, safety, and environmental (HSE) issues and is a further endorsement of our continuing commitment to achieving HSE excellence."
These awards follow detailed internal and external assessment programs, which reviewed all aspects of the company's business work processes. Both standards have been integrated into Wellstream's Common Quality Management System. Wellstream is targeting certification at its Panama City, USA manufacturing facility in 2002.
