HALLIBURTON’S WELLSTREAM LAUNCHES ITS HALLIFLOW PRODUCT LINE Following Acquisition of Equipment and Intellectual Property from Tubes d’Aquitaine
DALLAS, Texas - Wellstream, a business unit of Halliburton's (NYSE: HAL) Energy Services Group, today announces the launch of its range of reinforced thermoplastic pipe products for onshore and shallow water oil and gas applications under the Halliflow products name. Wellstream has strengthened its product range in this market sector through the recent acquisition of the manufacturing/installation equipment and intellectual property of Tubes d'Aquitaine, a French company that has been at the forefront of reinforced thermoplastic pipe development for the past twelve years. One of the key components of this acquisition is the aramid fibre tape production capability, which replaces the alternative traditional steel reinforcement layers.
"Halliflow reinforced thermoplastic pipe products are initially targeted at those onshore oil and gas field developments and refurbishments where the corrosion resistance, ease, and speed of installation, reusability, and overall lower life cycle costs bring measurable benefits to the operators. The technologies and properties in reinforced thermoplastic pipe are also providing us with more opportunities to develop hybrid product solutions for offshore deepwater applications where weight saving can be critical," said Brian Cocksedge, managing director, Wellstream. "We have already identified significant demand for the Halliflow range of products and are in the process of setting up in-region manufacturing facilities to meet this demand. We will be setting up two or more manufacturing facilities in those countries which we expect to be the hubs for regions having significant demand for the Halliflow range of products. The Halliflow pipes strengthen the portfolio of Wellstream products and the capability to deliver solutions to a broader customer base in the oil and gas sector and other industries."
