HALLIBURTON’S WELLSTREAM ANNOUNCES AWARD FROM MODEC INC AS PART OF MATRIX LANGSA PROJECT
DALLAS, Texas - Wellstream, a business unit of Halliburton Company's (NYSE: HAL) Energy Services Group, has been awarded the contract to supply flowlines and risers for Matrix Oil NL's Langsa FPSO (floating production, storage, & offloading) development in South East Asia from MODEC Inc., a member of the Mitsui Group of Companies.
Edgar Ortiz, president, Halliburton's Energy Services Group, said, "This award further reflects Wellstream's commitment to providing creative flexible pipe solutions for challenging fast track projects."
The award includes 4-in. risers, and 4-in. and 6-in. flowlines. Delivery of the flowlines and risers is scheduled for August 2001. The project presents several unique design challenges as the conveyed fluid is sour and flows as high temperatures. To accommodate the high temperature design requirement, Wellstream will utilize unplasticized PVDF for the internal fluid barrier. The sour service material, developed by Wellstream, meets both NACE and API specifications.
