HALLIBURTON’S WELLSTREAM NORTH SEA MAKES TRANSITION TO ISO 9001:2000
DALLAS, Texas - Wellstream North Sea, a business unit of Halliburton Company's (NYSE: HAL) Energy Services Group, has made a successful transition to the revised quality management system standard, ISO 9001:2000.
During the triennial ISO 9001 certification renewal assessment of Wellstream's Quality Management System by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance Ltd. (LRQA) (March 12-16), Wellstream North Sea demonstrated its compliance with the requirements of the new ISO 9001:2000 standard. The assessor, Steve Tweddle, commented on the "significant levels of awareness and commitment to quality throughout the business" and the "well maintained and controlled processes in operation."
Edgar Ortiz, president and CEO, Halliburton's Energy Services Group, said, "This is a significant achievement for Wellstream North Sea in Newcastle. Wellstream continues to raise the standards for quality in the design and manufacture of spoolable products for the oil, gas and associated markets. This is a credit to everyone working within Wellstream. The achievement demonstrates the inherent quality culture, employee commitment and drive to become the leader in spoolable products."
Wellstream's challenges for 2001 include the transition to ISO9001:2000 in Wellstream's Panama City facility in July, and further development of the management systems to achieve the environmental management system standard, ISO14001, and the health and safety management systems specification, OHSAS 18001 accredited certification for our facilities.
