HALLIBURTON SUBSEA AWARDED STATOIL YME REMOVAL CONTRACT

STAVANGER, Norway - Halliburton Subsea, a subsidiary within Halliburton Company's (NYSE: HAL) Energy Services Group, has been awarded the Yme Removal Work contract under Statoil's existing Frame Agreement for Marine Operations signed last year. The approximate value of the work order is NOK 17,5 million (US $2 million), with several contract options in existence that may increase the volume of work.

Commenting on the award, Halliburton Energy Services Group President and Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Ortiz, said, "We are delighted to have received this award from Statoil, especially as it is the first major work order under the new frame agreement for Marine Operations. We look forward to our continued service with Statoil, maintaining the standards achieved under the last 5-year Marine Operations frame agreement."

The Yme field, which is located 100 km off Egersund, south west of Norway, is an oil field comprised of a jack-up rig and processing platform, four subsea production wells, one template at Yme Beta East, and a storage/loading STL system. The Halliburton Subsea work scope includes removal of the subsea facilities; dedicated offshore construction vessel Toisa Perseus will be performing the offshore work. The Yme field will be terminated in spring 2001, with contract work scheduled for late summer 2001.
