HALLIBURTON ENERGY SERVICES RECEIVES DEEPWATER VENDOR AWARD FROM CONOCO

Dallas, TX - Halliburton Energy Services' Zonal Isolation product service line was recently honored for its excellent safety, service and environmental performance on the Conoco Inc. (NYSE:COC.A) (NYSE: COC.B) deepwater drillship, Pathfinder. Presented with Conoco's 1999 Deepwater Drilling Vendor of the Year Award, Halliburton Energy Services provides zonal isolation services for Conoco throughout the Gulf of Mexico region. Halliburton Energy Services is a business unit of Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL).
In petroleum well construction, zonal isolation is the process used to ensure optimum reservoir access and fluid zone protection.

"The Conoco award is the result of a tremendous team effort - from Halliburton's upper management to the employees who work on the Pathfinder," said Jody Powers, president, Halliburton Energy Services. "Halliburton Energy Services' proactive attitude also helped ensure that Conoco's targeted objectives were met on a daily basis."
The Pathfinder - first-of-its-kind, ultra-deepwater drillship owned by Conoco and R&B Falcon Corporation - is capable of operating in 10,000 feet of water and is currently operating in the Gulf of Mexico. The Halliburton Energy Services' Zonal Isolation team began providing services in January 1999 and has successfully performed numerous primary cement and pressure pumping jobs for Conoco.
