Halliburton Energy Services Wins Five-Year Pumping Services Contract for Petroleum Development Oman
Houston, TX - Halliburton Energy Services(HES), a business unit of Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL), announced today that Halliburton Worldwide Limited (HES Oman) has been awarded a five-year pumping services contract for Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).
The five year contract was effective 1st February 2000 and incorporates cementing, stimulation, coiled tubing, nitrogen, special tools and gravel pack.
"Critical to our success," said Edgar Ortiz, president of Halliburton Energy Services, "is that we did not simply offer PDO a traditional services contract. Instead we developed an innovative solution to meet their needs and those of the Oman Government to support the energy industry by developing and strengthening the local infrastructure."
HES' innovative business solution includes establishing a unique relationship with Fahud Oilfield Services (FOS), a 100% Oman company. Halliburton will align and work with FOS to provide Halliburton-quality products and services to PDO and will become a catalyst for change by developing FOS' strengths in areas of quality, safety and environmental management.
