HALLIBURTON NOMINATED FOR NATIONAL MINORITY SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL'S 2000 CORPORATION OF THE YEAR
DALLAS, Texas - Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL) has received notification that it has been nominated for the National Minority Supplier Development Council's 2000 "Corporation of the Year" award. The award is presented each year to a major corporation that has excelled at minority business development. Past winners include Ford Motor Company, SBC Communications, Exxon, and The Boeing Company.
"We consider it an honor to be nominated for this prestigious award," said Dave Lesar, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Halliburton. "Supplier diversity is a serious part of our procurement strategy at Halliburton," added Jim Scotti, vice president of Procurement for Halliburton who also serves as president of the Houston Minority Business Council Board of Directors.
The winner of this year's Corporation of the Year award will be announced on November 1 at the NMSDC annual conference in New Orleans.
