Halliburton Subsea Completes Petronius ROV Tie-Back Support With Texaco
DALLAS, TX -As a division of Brown & Root Energy Services, Halliburton Subsea, has completed a contract with Texaco for remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services in support of the Petronius Tie-Back program aboard the compliant tower in VK 786 in 1754 fsw. Brown & Root Energy Services is a business unit of Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL).
Halliburton's Cobra ROV system mobilized aboard the compliant tower earlier in the year and successfully completed its task of providing ROV support while Texaco tied back Petronius wells to the surface. Built in New Orleans, La., Cobra is a heavy duty, top-hat designed TMS, work- class ROV system capable of delivering 75 horsepower, sonar, video, and dual manipulators functions.
Achieving significant advances in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) markets over the past year, Halliburton Subsea has successfully provided ROV services in support of GOM ROV drill/completion support and construction-related projects for Amerada Hess, Kerr McGee, El Paso Energy, Chevron, Pemex, Spinnaker Exploration, Cliff's Drilling, Devon Energy, Heerema Marine Contractors, Oceanografia, European Marine Contractors and Burlington Resources.
While still based in Belle Chasse, La., Halliburton Subsea has relocated its Operations Base to a 10-acre Halliburton facility on Highway 23 South with over 40,000 square feet of covered office and warehouse space to support its GOM ROV and survey operations and system integration testing.
