HALLIBURTON, WESTPORT AND PETROTECH FORM ALLIANCE TO OFFER RESERVOIR FLUIDS SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS SOLUTIONS
Houston, Texas - Halliburton Energy Services, a business unit of Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL), Westport Technology Center International, and Petrotech have established a global alliance for performing reservoir fluids sampling and analysis services.
"The technology used by this alliance is so advanced that we believe it will contribute to setting the standard of the reservoir fluids sampling and analysis business," said Edgar Ortiz, president, Halliburton Energy Services.
"Reservoir fluids play a critical role in all aspects of petroleum and reservoir engineering," said Phil Longorio, group vice president, HES Drilling and Reservoir Evaluation. "Accurate sampling and analysis techniques provide essential input to reservoir simulation models and help to optimize processing facility designs, ultimately boosting the profitability of an oil or gas field.
The alliance uses an integrated approach toward complete reservoir fluids sampling and analysis solutions, building on the years of experience and specific expertise that each of the alliance partners have.
HES provides well test design, execution and reservoir description capabilities to assist with modeling the reservoir performance.
Petrotech offers specialized reservoir fluids sampling and onsite analysis services. Procedures and special sampling equipment - including mercury-free single-phase samplers, and pressure compensated inert samplers-have been developed to secure the highest quality sampling possible. Other services Petrotech provides include onsite formation water and trace element sampling and analysis; separator efficiency studies; wet gas metering using tracer techniques; wireline fluid sample transfer and validation; and in-situ pH measurement.
The state-of-the-art reservoir fluids laboratory from Westport Technology Center International, a Halliburton technical services company, is equipped to provide routine laboratory services and unconventional analyses. These high quality services help the petroleum industry to accurately assess complex drilling, exploration and production challenges.
