Sperry-Sun Participates In Setting Four World Records On Danish North Sea Well For Maersk Olie OG Gas AS
Dallas, Texas - Sperry-Sun, a division of the Halliburton Energy Services business unit of Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL), recently provided directional drilling services to help set four world records: one for mud of any type and three for water-based mud. Sperry-Sun's SPERRY DRILL® mud motors and AGS™ (adjustable gauge stabilizer) tool were used by Maersk Olie og Gas AS on well MFF-19C in the Dan Field to help set the following world records:

The AGS™ tool was used throughout the horizontal section as a top-of-the-motor control stabilizer. With this tool, inclination can be precisely controlled and a wellpath that stays within the pay zone can be drilled. Directional control past 18,000 feet on the Maersk well was achieved using the AGS™ tool, and wellpath consistently remained in the pay zone.
