Halliburton's Brown & Root Enery Services Wins R.O.V. Drilling Support Contract In The Gulf Of Mexico
DALLAS, Texas - As a division of Brown & Root Energy Services (BRES), SubSea International, Inc. has been awarded a contract to provide remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services to support Burlington Resources, Inc.'s drilling program in the Gulf of Mexico. Brown & Root Energy Services is a business unit of Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL). Operating from onboard the semi-submersible "Borgny Dolphin," SubSea International's ROV systems include a custom-built heavy launch and recovery system, a four-point guide wire cursor system and a Pioneer work-class ROV.
SubSea International, which became part of BRES following the Halliburton Company and Dresser Industries merger, has operated onboard the "Borgny Dolphin" for the past six years. During that period the company has maintained an excellent track record with only minimal ROV downtime.
