FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 2, 1997
Halliburton Opens Reservoir Decision Centers
HOUSTON, Texas - Halliburton Energy Services will open Reservoir Decision Centers to offer oil and gas companies a broad suite of integrated reservoir services. Fully equipped with Landmark's market-leading integrated software applications, the Decision Centers will bring all of Halliburton's capabilities together to help maximize the value of the customer's reservoir.
The Houston Reservoir Decision Center is fully operational, and Centers in Aberdeen and Caracas will be operational by early 1998, with additional sites under consideration. The Centers will network Halliburton's existing log data processing centers throughout the world, giving customers in these locations real-time access to reservoir solutions from the Reservoir Decision Centers. Alliances will be established to supplement local capabilities and capacity in the Centers.
The Centers will be staffed with teams of geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, and reservoir engineers. These teams of experts will provide reservoir engineering, simulation, characterization, seismic interpretation, petrophysical and geological analysis, imaging and data management services. These services will add a valuable component to Halliburton's Integrated Solutions deliverables.
Zeke Zeringue, president of Halliburton Energy Services said, "Reservoir understanding is essential to generating value from oil and gas assets. By integrating our capabilities with an understanding of the reservoir, we can fully apply our technology to develop the best solution for our customers. Maximizing reservoir performance will be our goal in these Centers."
The Centers also provide a glimpse of how Halliburton views the future of reservoir management, according to Zeringue. "We are moving towards a future where oil and gas fields will be monitored and operated remotely, from anywhere in the world. Our successes with multilateral systems and our involvement with Petroleum Engineering Services in the development of Smart Wells are evidence of the commitment we have to developing technologies for this new world. The Reservoir Decision Centers will help our customers significantly reduce operating costs and improve the value of their assets."
