Norske Shell Selects Halliburton To Commission Troll Phase 1 Gas Pipelines

STAVANGER, Norway - Norske Shell, as development operator for Troll Gas (phase 1), has awarded a $2.5 million contract to Halliburton Energy Services for the Ready For Operations activities for the Troll Phase 1 wet gas pipelines.

Halliburton will perform mechanical completion, precommissioning and commissioning of two 36-inch and one 4-inch pipeline between Troll A Platform and the Kollsnes Terminal, a distance of approximately 70 kilometers. The 36-inch lines will bring the wet gas onshore for processing prior to being exported through the Zeepipe and Europipe pipelines currently being commissioned by Halliburton.

Following an engineering, planning and procedures phase, operations are scheduled to begin in September and continue through January 1996. The work consists primarily of cleaning, gauging, caliper and inspection survey followed by pressure testing before product will be introduced in the pipelines in the spring of 1996.
