Saga Awards $10.6 Million Integrated Fluids Contract On World's Largest Tension Leg Platform

STAVANGER, Norway - Saga Petroleum a.s. has awarded a three-year contract to the team of Halliburton Energy Services, M-I Drilling Fluids and OSCA for the provision of mud, cement and completion fluids on the Snorre TLP, currently the world's largest tension leg platform. The contract is valued at approximately $10.6 million.

The Snorre field is located approximately 150 miles northwest of Bergen, Norway in the Norwegian Sea. The Snorre tension leg platform has 14 wells drilled out of 44 slots. The three-year contract includes an optional extension of two additional years.

Halliburton and M-I work closely together in providing fluids and fluids management for drilling and completions operations throughout the world. Halliburton owns a 36% interest in M-I Drilling Fluids L.L.C. and Smith International owns the remaining 64%.
