ACRt™ Array Compensated Resistivity Tool Family
Fast, accurate, state-of-the-art array induction
Our Array Compensated Resistivity (ACRt™) tool family uses the principles of magnetic induction to determine the conductivity of geologic strata. It’s made up of a transmitter, which generates an alternating magnetic field and six receiving arrays. These arrays measure the voltages due to induced currents in the formation by the alternating magnetic field. This information is sent in digital form uphole where the software processing produces the desired results.
Every aspect of mechanical, electrical, software, and signal-processing design has been optimized. This yields array induction measurements with unparalleled accuracy, stability, and dynamic range. The tool provides five curves with different depths of investigation (DOIs) (10, 30, 50, 60, 90 in.) free from borehole and skin effects. In addition, the processing provides real-time inverted values of Rt, Rx0, and diameter(s) of invasion assuming either a step or linear invasion profiles.
The ACRt tool is available in the following variations:
- UltraSlim™ ACRt tool is part of the UltraSlim stack with a diameter of 2.35 in. Even with its small diameter, it provides logs with the same accuracy as the standard ACRt tool, but within a more reduced resistivity range. As part of the UltraSlim stack, it can log via wireline or to memory.
- H-ACRt tool is part of the HEAT™ Suite stack. It provides logs with the same accuracy as the standard ACRt tool, but to temperatures and pressures up to 500°F (260°C) and 25,000 psi.
