Rotating Control Device 5000
Halliburton's RCD 5000™ device provides a robust and reliable means of safely diverting flow from the annulus away from the rig floor. Complementing the traditional BOP stack, the RCD maintains a dynamic seal on the annulus, making it possible to control the annular pressure at the surface using chokes, thus controlling influx of formation fluids while drilling proceeds.
Rated to 3000 psi static pressure, the RCD 5000 device allows use of lower mud weights in HTHP applications and makes it possible for friction loads to be applied to the annulus using the choke manifold, considerably enhancing well control.
Providing 7-1/16” or 9-1/16” through bore, the RCD 5000 device offers dual stripper capability, and is available with a range of adapter accessories including a snubbing/test/logging adapter as well as casing stripping.
The RCD offers many advantages over other rotating control devices in the industry.
- Compact design means the RCD will fit under most drilling rigs without modifications or jacking of the rig.
- Compact design for better maneuverability within the sub structure means faster rig up.
- The RCD offers the only multi sealing technology on the market, thus creating safer operations without the added height associated with other diverters offering dual seals.
- All RCD 5000 connections with a diameter in excess of 1/2 in. are flanged connections.
