ABG™ At-Bit Gamma Sensor

The ABG sensor provides the high-quality at-bit formation evaluation measurements needed to make quick decisions and to keep horizontal or high-angle wellbores in the pay, extending the length of the productive interval in the reservoir for maximum hydrocarbon recovery. Geo-Pilot® 7600 and 9600 series rotary steerable systems have an ABG sensor combined with an ABI™ at-bit inclination sensor built into the tool.

The ABG sensor uses three independent detectors arranged symmetrically around the tool. Each sensor is focused, providing three unique directionally sensitive measurements that can help identify the location and orientation of formation changes relative to the Geo-Pilot® system.
