XBAT™ Azimuthal Sonic and Ultrasonic LWD Service

Building on the success of the BAT™ and QBAT™ tools, Sperry Drilling services has taken velocity measurements to a new level with the XBAT™ azimuthal sonic and ultrasonic LWD service. The tool combines multipole transmitters and four azimuthal receiver arrays, along with a 4-pinger acoustic caliper.

The XBAT LWD service delivers accurate acoustic measurements in a wide range of formations via sensors and electronics that are much less sensitive to drilling noise and have a wider frequency response. The result is a greater signal-to-noise ratio that enables better measurements even in noisy drilling environments and poor hole conditions.

The XBAT LWD service helps you to drill safer, faster, and on target in challenging environments, mitigating risk through pore pressure prediction and hole shape information for wellbore stability monitoring, and optimizing the position of your wellbore with synthetic seismograms that tie back to surface seismic data.
