PetroGuard® Openhole Shunt System
Enhance long-interval gravel packs with an improved shunt system
PetroGuard® Openhole Shunt system for sand screens is a design improvement on field-proven equipment to enhance gravel-packing operations in production intervals. It provides a bi-path to ensure a complete annular pack, increasing the robustness of the sandface.
The new design features round jumper tubes, which provide better sealing integrity and faster assembly time than similar competing systems. Used primarily in horizontal wells, the PetroGuard Openhole Shunt system is more rugged than the clamshell style system, provides a higher pressure rating, and saves rig time with its faster assembly:
- Allows gravel packing in challenging reservoirs (heterogeneous or low fracture gradient formations)
- Addresses collapsed hole conditions or massive fluid leakoff to the reservoir while packing the interval
- Provides robust sandface to maximize recovery
- Reduces makeup time
- Increases pressure integrity of the bi-path to minimize slurry dehydration
- Tolerates misalignment
Industry-proven, field-proven — the improved PetroGuard Openhole Shunt system is the rugged, reliable solution for minimizing the risk of sand control failure.
