Halliburton’s Mud Flush™ III preflush acts as a dispersant for clay particles and as a water-wetting surfactant to chemically remove drilling mud and leave all downhole surfaces water-wet. These properties can help ensure compatibility with drilling fluids and cements that come in contact with it downhole.
Mud Flush III preflush is a single-component mud-filter-cake removal system prepared by adding it to water. It was developed to be user-friendly and cost-efficient. For instance, when the dry additive is used, Mud Flush III preflush is less costly to ship than heavy drums containing liquids, particularly beneficial for international operations.
In addition, Halliburton is committed to helping operators address sustainable environment concerns. To that end, Mud Flush III has been environmentally evaluated according to OSPAR commission regulations. Dedicated to the protection of the marine environment in the North-East Atlantic, the OSPAR commission worked as a unified entity with representation from the governments of Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
