Tuf Additive No.2™ Lost Circulation Additive

Tuf Additive No. 2™ is an odorless, fibrous material that can be added to cement slurries or Super Flush™ additive to impart bridging and matting properties for preventing lost circulation.  It can be used at bottomhole circulating temperatures (BHCTs) between 60°F and 260°F (16°C to 127°C). Normal additive concentrations are 1/8 to 1/2 lb/sk of cement (0.06 to 0.23 kg/sk). Large concentrations of Tuf Additive No. 2 additive can cause mixing problems. Because this additive can cause bridging at valves, it should be batch-mixed on the job and not at a pneumatic plant.

Tuf Additive No. 2 additive provides the following benefits:

  • It can help impart shatter resistance to set cement.
  • It is an inert material and will not alter the properties of other additives.
  • It can help increase slurry durability.
