Baroid’s ENCORE® utilizes clay-free technology. RHEMOD™ L, a modified fatty acid, is the primary viscosifier and provides robust, fragile gels which minimize losses due to surges in the wellbore. Omitting organophilic clay additions allow the ENCORE system to provide excellent rheology profile, while producing non-progressive gel strengths.
Fluid stability in extreme environments
When it comes to thermal stability, ENCORE® provides stability greater than 500°F. Utilizing co-polymer technology to control fluid loss eliminates the need for organophilic black powders, providing a more stable rheology and HPHT fluid loss.
Reduce non-productive time and increase production
With clay-free technology, ENCORE® can reduce the amount of circulating time to condition the fluid. Staging into the hole or circulating to stabilize mud weight after long static periods is no longer needed when using ENCORE®. With the lack of organophilic clay, which can take more than a day to yield, the real-time response to chemical treatments of ENCORE® eliminates the need for hours of circulating to condition drilling fluid.
Another attribute of ENCORE® co-polymer technology is an extremely thin filter cake. It provides a better seal than conventional technologies resulting in low fluid invasion, resulting in optimal logging conditions, less skin damage, better return permeability and low lift-off pressures, giving the operator better production from their well.
